The University of California Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP)

The University offers FREE Nutrition classes to families, using EFNEP’s, “Eating Smart-Being Active” curricula. This program educates families on how to make positive changes in the following:

  • Stretching your food budget
  • Meal planning
  • Food preparation
  • Food consumption
  • And physical activity



 8 Class Course 
Topics Include:

  • Get Moving: Exercise and increase physical activity
  • Plan, Shop, Save
  • Fruits and Veggies: Half your plate
  • Choose whole grains
  • Building Strong Bones: Calcium enriched foods
  • Protein-rich foods and food safety
  • Make A Change: Limit fats and sugars

 



**Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate and recipe book with healthy low-cost recipes.
