The University offers FREE Nutrition classes to families, using EFNEP’s, “Eating Smart-Being Active” curricula. This program educates families on how to make positive changes in the following:
- Stretching your food budget
- Meal planning
- Food preparation
- Food consumption
- And physical activity
8 Class Course
Topics Include:
- Get Moving: Exercise and increase physical activity
- Plan, Shop, Save
- Fruits and Veggies: Half your plate
- Choose whole grains
- Building Strong Bones: Calcium enriched foods
- Protein-rich foods and food safety
- Make A Change: Limit fats and sugars
**Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate and recipe book with healthy low-cost recipes.
